The Outstanding Resident of the Year (OROTY) Awards program was established in 1997 to recognize and honor outstanding residents who embody a great spirit of altruism and whose combination of clinical promise, leadership, dedication, and commitment to Osteopathic--centered patient care separates them from their peers. Over time, this recognition program has grown to include a financial award to help defray expenses associated with residency. Nominations will be accepted from the following specialties in 2025:
- American Academy of Osteopathy
- American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians
- American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists
- American College of Osteopathic Pediatricians
- American Osteopathic Academy of Addiction Medicine
- American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics
- American Osteopathic College of Anesthesiologists
