AOF Burnett Osteopathic Student Researcher Grant This grant was established to support an Osteopathic medical student for their true dedication to Osteopathic-oriented research. An bi-annual award in the amount of $5,000 will be presented to one individual who has demonstrated a commitment to the science of Osteopathic principles and practice, an active interest in clinical or basic science research pertaining to Osteopathic medicine and manipulative treatment, and outstanding academic achievement and noteworthy accomplishments in research. AOF Edward and Joanne Loniewski Merit Scholarship was established by Edward A. Loniewski, DO in an effort to combine his deep commitment to AOF with his love of the state of Michigan. This Fund provides an annual scholarship of $5,000 to one OMS III or OMS IV student who graduated from a Michigan high school in good academic standing, with demonstrated leadership skills, and articulated financial need. AOF Thomas A. Quinn, DO, Osteopathic Scholarship is an annual scholarship award in the amount of $5,000 that recognizes up to 2 Osteopathic medical students annually who are fervently committed to Osteopathic principles and practice and have maintained an above-average academic standing throughout their academic tenure. The scholarship will be distributed in two equal payments for two consecutive years provided the student remains in good academic standing. AOF Prairie State Scholarship was created through a collaborative partnership with the Illinois Osteopathic Medical Society to provide financial assistance to Osteopathic medical students who graduated from an Illinois high school.  An annual scholarship in the amount of $5,000 will be awarded to one student who exemplifies the ideals of the Osteopathic profession and serves as an ambassador for the profession while completing their Osteopathic education. NEW IN 2024! (August 1-30; October 1-31) AOF Osteopathic Research Incubator Grant was created to help early career Osteopathic researchers conduct proof of concept, pilot, or feasibility studies that advance Osteopathic medicine. A limited number of seed grants ranging from $1,000 - $5,000 will be awarded to early career investigators for a project period of 12-18 months. Payments will be made in two installments: 75% upon signing of the grant agreement and 25% upon completion of a final report within 30 days of the project end date.  Applications will be accepted in two rounds. Round 1: Application open August 1 – August 30. Applicants and their mentor(s) will be notified by the end of September. Round 2: Application open October 1 – October 31. Applicants and their mentor(s) will be notified of funding decisions by the end of November. An applicant who did not receive funding in Round 1 may submit a revised application during Round 2, provided they still meet the eligibility criteria. A maximum of one resubmission is permitted per project. Resubmissions will be assessed under the same criteria as first-time applications. OPENING WINTER 2024: AOF/ AAOA Holiday Hugs Grants The Advocates for the AOA, in partnership with the American Osteopathic Foundation (AOF), created the Holiday Hug Grant in 2020 to help three (3) medical students or current residents with year-end expenses with grants of $500 each.

NOTE: Students may apply for multiple scholarships or grants in one cycle; however only one financial award is offered per person annually.  If an individual is selected as the top winner for two scholarships or grants, the greater of the two will be given.
