Burnett Osteopathic Student Researcher Grant

The AOF Burnett Osteopathic Student Researcher Grant was established by John H. Burnett, DO and Mary M. Burnett, DO to support an Osteopathic medical student for their true dedication to Osteopathic-oriented research. One (1) bi-annual award in the amount of $5,000 will be presented to one (1) OMS II, OMS III or OMS IV student who has demonstrated a commitment to the science of Osteopathic principles and practice, an active interest in clinical or basic science research pertaining to Osteopathic medicine and manipulative treatment, outstanding academic achievement, and noteworthy accomplishments in research.

Osteopathic Research Incubator Grants 

Established in 2024, AOF's Osteopathic Research Incubator Grants fund proof of concept, pilot, or feasibility studies that advance Osteopathic medicine. This grant is intended to help prepare early career investigators to eventually compete with more senior investigators for future research grants from other funders. Up to 5 seed grants ranging from $1,000 - $5,000 will be awarded to early career investigators for a project period of 12-18 months. Payments will be made in two installments: 75% upon signing of the grant agreement and 25% upon completion of a final report within 30 days of the project end date.

Rocovich Research Grant 

The American Osteopathic Foundation’s Rocovich Research Grant was established in 2019 by Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) to recognize founders John Rocovich, JD, and Sue Ellen Rocovich, DO, PhD, in gratitude for their strong support of Osteopathic medicine and the advancement of knowledge through Osteopathic medical research. This research grant is given annually to support the research of one (1) Osteopathic medical student, resident, or physician who is contributing to scholarly work on the biomechanical, biomedical, or clinical aspects of Osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT).  A grant of $5,000 will be awarded to one (1) individual who exemplifies the grant’s purpose.
